[MOVIE] IDENTITY; Which Is The Real Me?

This movie is quite an old one. It was released in 2003 but since I have reviewed about Korean drama, Kill Me Heal Me, I will review this movie because it is also worth to watch. Kill Me Heal Me tells about a man suffered dissociative identity disorder (DID) from the melancholy side while Identity tells about a man suffered DID from the thrilling side.

It was started with a doctor listened to his recordings with his patient, Malcolm Rivers. He was sentenced to death due to a murder case. He had killed 6 people and he would be executed the next day but his lawyer found an evidence which was not included in the last hearing. It was a diary. It would show who the real murderer was.

Jong Suk unintentionally killed Duk Ki and took the blame on Eun Ki Hwa.

Due to the stress, Ki Hwa suffered from cerebral hemorrhage and his family collapsed. Ae Ryung must marry a womanizer yet rich guy, Jin Goo in order to pay her father's hospital billing. Chae Ryung must grow up and start to look for a job. Then she met Choi Hyuk Ki (Choi Jin Hyuk), Duk Ki's brother. Both of them tried to prove Ki Hwa's innocence.

This series is quite short for family drama (which is usually over 50 eps). It's only 17 episodes and it looks too rush. There are parts that can be improved more and deeper. Just like Jin Goo's secret. Too soon to be revealed and concluded. :p Overall, it's still have moral to learn. We must be independent and tough. Through hardship and all circumstances, we can't give up.

He didn't want to show his weakness to anyone.

Young Ho trained Joo Eun to lose her weight so she could be Venus of Daegu again. During the training, love blossomed between both of them.

Another drama about being pretty outside is more important. Good looking can attract the opposite sex but it's not the only way to get love. One thing that I love from this drama is Young Ho loves Joo Eun even when she's a fatty. Though he helps her to lose her weight, he still accepts her when she gains weight again.

[SERIES] BIRTH OF BEAUTY; A Beauty Transformation

[ACTOR] KIM KANG WOO; A Guy with Marble Eyes

This ajussi is so loveable. I saw him for the first time when he played in Golden Cross. He has sharp eyes which can make me feel enchanted. lol. His acting as a prosecutor who would like to avenge his sister's death was really great. Then he played in Missing Noir M as a quiet detective and had secrets lied in him. Recently, he played as a villain in Goodbye Mr. Black.

Unexpectedly, Seung Yoo saw Se Ryung and thought that she was Princess Kyung Hye. Love started blooming between both of them.

[SERIES] THORN BIRDS; Don't Let The Thorns Grow

It's quite hard to find watch/download link for this drama. I think it's not so popular but I find the story is good enough to remind us how hard work will worth and true love will never end.

Seo Jung Eun (played by Han Hye Jin) and Han Yoo Kyung (Kim Min Jung) were best friends when they were in middle high school. Jung Eun grew up in an orphanage. She dreamed to be an actress and Yoo Kyung helped her to record her self-performances. Jung Eun admired a famous actress, Lee Ae Rin and wished that she was her real mother.

[SERIES] EMPIRE OF GOLD; The World with Greed

There's always a protagonist and an antagonist in every drama. But, in this series, you will find that every character is more likely to be antagonist. It was started with a scene where Choi Seo Yoon (played by Lee Yo Won) waiting for her bridegroom, Jang Tae Joo (Go Soo). The wedding was held on a church and there were only both of them there. Seo Yoon would like to put the ring on Tae Joo's finger but she noticed that there was trace of blood in Tae Joo's hand. Then, it brought them to 20 years ago.

In 1990s, where there was IMF financial crisis, Tae Joo who had been graduated from university found out that his father must die for holding on his little restaurant. A rich family would like to buy the land there and get rid of the people who stood against them. Tae Joo's father who suffered from the injuries couldn't survive for he had no money to get surgery. By this incident, Tae Joo promised to himself to get rich and avenge to the rich men who "killed" his father.

Tae Joo, accompanied by his best friend, met Yoon Seol Hee, his senior when he was  at school. They worked together in a property field. He worked as hard as he could to reach the top. Love grew between both of them but because of Tae Joo's greed, he sacrificed Seol Hee to get in the jail in his place. Tae Joo married Seo Yoon though he didn't love her. In the other hand, Seo Yoon also need Tae Joo to fight with her cousin.

This drama showed that poor people couldn't survive just because they didn't have enough money to get better medication. Even, honesty and intelligence weren't worthy. But, once again, it taught us not to be greedy. The more we feed our greed, the more it will grow and eat you up.

[SERIES] NINE; Nine Times Travel

Park Sun Woo (played by Lee Jin Wook) was an anchorman. He met his brother briefly before his brother went to Nepal. His brother told him about making up their past. Sun Woo didn't get what his brother talked about. Later, Sun Woo found out that his brother died in the mountain. The strange thing was his brother died holding an incense. Sun Woo couldn't sleep at night after he confirmed his brother's body. He lit the incense up and it took him to himself 20 years ago.

[SERIES] HOTEL KING; The Hotel Lies A Secret

This drama reunited Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hae after My Girl. It's about Cha Jae Wan, a general manager of Hotel Ciel and Ah Mo Ne, an heiress of the hotel. Lee Joong Goo, a man who picked Jae Wan when he was a beggar from a lousy street, told that Ah Sung Won was his father and had abandoned him and his deceased mother. That's why Jae Wan would like to avenge his father. He told Sung Won that he was his son but accidentally Sung Won was dead.

After Sung Won's death, Ah Mo Ne, Sung Won's daughter appeared. She wanted to know how his father died. Jae Wan who thought Ah Mo Ne was his sister, slowly fell in love with her. Feeling guilty to have the forbidden feeling, Jae Wan tried to ignore her. In the other hand, Ah Mo Ne loved Jae Wan sincerely and did her best to keep the hotel.

Manager Baek Mi Nyeo held a lot of secrets that no one knows. She helped Ah Mo Ne to be a chairwoman but also framed her for a fraud. She also tried to kill Jae Wan who later known to be his son. Jae Wan also found out that his biological father was Lee Joong Goo. Knowing this fact, he finally felt relieved and started a relationship with Ah Mo Ne.

Once again, revenge brings no happiness. People who plan to avenge other people usually get more miserable. This drama shows that sincere love can melt someone's cold heart. The love I talk about is not only love between man and woman but also between friends and parents-children.

[SERIES] QUEEN OF AMBITION; Ambition equals to greedy

Soo Ae, is an actress whom I dislike actually. Lol. But, I have to admit that in this series she acted well. Soo Ae played as Joo Da Hae, a woman who had difficult life when she was young. She stayed in an orphanage then met Ha Ryu, who set his eyes on her. She was taken by her mother later and lived with her stepfather and stepbrother. Her stepfather had been sexually abusing her so she decided to run away but her stepfather found her and she had no choice to kill him. Ha Ryu who saw the murder, asked her to keep it as secret. They buried the body in a mountain.

[ACTOR] SONG JONG HO; A Multi-character Actor

After Lee Yoo Ri, I'll talk about Song Jong Ho, the actor who plays in The Promise too. He's playing as Hwi Kyung, an heir of Baekdo Group and a fiance of Baek Do Hee. His character is sweet and lovable yet pitiful. Hwi Kyung had to be framed as a playboy for covering his ex-wife's affair. Though actually he did it for covering his mother's past. Slowly, he opened his heart for Do Hee but after Do Hee's accident, he didn't know that Do Hee actually had died.

[ACTRESS] LEE YOO RI; The Queen of Antagonist

I saw Lee Yoo Ri for the first time is in the series Come! Jang Bo Ri as Kim Min Jung, the most mischievous and cruelest villain. lol. But, because of that character, I fell for her. She's a great actress. This year she's taking a challenge for playing two characters as twins in The Promise as Na Yeon, a cheerful yet tough woman and Do Hee, an ignorant yet brave woman.

I've never watched her drama before but since Come! Jang Bo Ri I like her to play as an antagonist. Even in The Promise, I'm looking forward to her role. She won't disappoint her fans as a villain. lol.

[SERIES] THE PROMISE; A twisted destiny

This series is still airing on KBS2 every Monday to Friday. For the international fans you can watch it on KBS World or its official Youtube. The Promise/Heaven's Promise tells about a woman who devoted her life to a man but got betrayed and she had to live as a single mother for her 5-year-old daughter. The man who loved her for 20 years left her for his ambition and greed. He was married to a rich family's daughter which the woman had been dumped from.

[SERIES] HERO; Every Effort Worth Something

Hero tells about the story of a reporter for newspaper. Jin Do-Hyuk (Lee Joon Gi) was a reporter for a gossip magazine. His dream was to be a journalist like his father, who died when he was a kid. He wanted to work at Daese Ilbo, a well-known daily newspaper in Seoul. When he would like to interview Jo Yong Deok, a gang leader who had been imprisoned for 15 years, Jo Yong Deok asked him to join him to start his own newspaper named Yong Deok Ilbo. His purpose was to take revenge to Daese Ilbo. To fulfill his dream, Do Hyuk excitedly follow his plan.

As a new newspaper office, they found hard times often. Especially when they had to deal with Daese Ilbo. The problem was getting complicated when Do Hyuk finally found out about the cause of his father's death.

This drama teaches us to catch our dream. No matter what obstacles in our way, we can go through it by our will, the support of the people who love us. It also sends the message that greed and grudge can be horrible when you let them grow in your heart.

[SERIES] GOLDEN CROSS; Everything Is Not Like What It Seems

This drama is about a prosecutor named Kang Do Yoon (Kim Kang Woo) who loved his family a lot but one day his sister was murdered and his father was framed as the murderer. He couldn't believe what happened in his family, even his father admitted that he was the one who killed his sister.

[ACTOR] SO JI SUB; Melancholy-faced Ajussi

What word can describe this man? Too many! Hahaha. I saw him for the first time when he played in series "Glass Shoes". His character there was so adorable yet pitiful. His efforts and struggle to get someone he loved ended tragically. He had to die on his wedding day. Watching that scene made my eyes were flooded by tears. How could he die when he loved the girl so much, and right after the girl opened her heart to him?

[ACTOR] JOO SANG WOOK; Suited-man Specialty

Joo Sang Wook, who was born on July 18th, 1978, captivated me (and other girls) with his smile through his act in Good Doctor. His role as Kim Do Han, a surgeon who had a strict and cool personality attracted a lot of girls' attention. I fell in love with him because of this drama. Then, I watched his 2011's series entitled "The Thorn Birds". Again, he made me fall in love for his acting.

[ACTOR] PARK SHI HOO; The Cute-eyed Man

Should I call him ajussi for he was born on April 3rd, 1978? lol. He looks younger than his actual age so every girl still can call him oppa. ^^ I liked him for the first time when he played Princess' Man. The character he played was so complicated. He must have chosen someone he loved or avenged his grudge towards his father's murderer.

[ACTOR] HYUN BIN; That Charming Dimple

Hyun Bin was born under the name of Kim Tae Pyung. He was born on September 25th, 1982. With the height of 184 cm, he looks so cool for models.

[ACTOR] LEE JOON GI; A Manly Flower Man

Lee Joon Gi/Lee Jun Ki was a Korean actor, born on April 17th, 1982. He has a beautiful face, more like prettier than any girls. Lol.

But, he's way far from the word "feminine". He's so manly. His voice, his gestures, totally a man.

[SERIES] GAPDONG; A Psycho Next Door

Remember the story of Jack The Ripper? An unknown serial killer who had murdered numerous women fiercely but no one knew who really he was. Gap Dong had the similar plot. It tells about a serial killer who had murdered some women. Moo Yeom (Yoon Sang Hyun)'s father was accused as Gap Dong, the name called for the serial killer 20 years ago. Because of the investigation, Moo Yeom's father killed himself.

[SERIES] FLOWER GRANDPA INVESTIGATION TEAM; Grandpas Before Flowers

You must have seen a bunch of handsome and hot guys in most of Korean dramas. Most male leads have this qualification. But, what if these handsome young guys turn to grandpas? This is what happened in this drama. Three cool police officers suddenly turned to be grandpas in a glance. Only one of their workmate remained the same. They were initially hate one another but must work together to figure out what made them change and the secret lied behind it.

Within a lot of humor, this drama doesn't lose its thrill. Though the unexpected spy was discovered quite soon but the twist is quite interesting. The actors are really good actors both the young ones and seniors. We still can see the same character even the actor is different. This drama also teaches us to cherish our family and friends.
