The poster shows the darkness of the story. And yes, the story is dark but not all the time though. It has comedy, romance yet thrilling action.

Cha Ji Won (Lee Jin Wook) was a symbol of perfection. He was a tall, handsome, bright and nice guy. He was a team captain of Navy Special Operations Force. He had a rich father, a cheerful sister, a dependable best friend and a beautiful fiancee. All looked perfect till one day, Ji Won found that his father was dead in Thailand. Ji Won had a military training in Thailand while his father had a business there. He was told that his father died because of drugs. He didn't believe but he didn't ask for an autopsy. In the middle of his investigation of his father's dead, he was accused to be a murderer. There was a CCTV footage showed he shot a Thai guy and he suddenly became a fugitive.

Being an orphan as a child, Lee Rin was sent away from palace and his older half-brother Gi-san, son of a concubine, was crowned as the new king.

Eun Ki Hwa had three children, Eun Ae-Ryung, Chae Ryung and Ho Ryung. Ae Ryung was a lecturer, Chae Ryung (Moon Chae Won) was childish and daddy's girl, Ho Ryung depended on his father. Park Jong Suk liked Chae Ryung but Chae Ryung didn't like him so Jong Suk planned to kidnap Chae Ryung. He asked Duk Ki to do it but the plan was ruined. Jong Suk unintentionally killed Duk Ki and took the blame on Eun Ki Hwa.

Due to the stress, Ki Hwa suffered from cerebral hemorrhage and his family collapsed. Ae Ryung must marry a womanizer yet rich guy, Jin Goo in order to pay her father's hospital billing. Chae Ryung must grow up and start to look for a job. Then she met Choi Hyuk Ki (Choi Jin Hyuk), Duk Ki's brother. Both of them tried to prove Ki Hwa's innocence.

This series is quite short for family drama (which is usually over 50 eps). It's only 17 episodes and it looks too rush. There are parts that can be improved more and deeper. Just like Jin Goo's secret. Too soon to be revealed and concluded. :p Overall, it's still have moral to learn. We must be independent and tough. Through hardship and all circumstances, we can't give up.

Yi In Jwa's parents had been killed by King Sukjong. He planned to avenge the King and make him abdicate his throne. He set a lady-in-waiting to get the King's heart and became a concubine. The lady-in-waiting had been married before with an addicted gambler, Baek Man Geum. Through a trick, the King could win the woman and made her as his concubine. After married the King, Sookbin Choi delivered a baby only after 6 months. In order to save her baby, she asked Yi Soo to take the baby out of the palace. Yi Soo brought the baby to Baek Man Geum, Sookbin Choi's ex-husband. Baek Man Geum named him Dae Gil (Jang Geun Suk).

Kang Joo Eun (Shin Min Ah) was a 33-year-old lawyer. She was overweight and unattractive. She used to be called Venus of Daegu when she was at high school because of her beauty. She had a boyfriend since then, Im Woo Shik. Because of the stress of her work, she didn't realize that her weight got heavier. At the time she thought that she would be proposed, she got dumped instead. After a long relationship, she must end her dream to marry her boyfriend. She decided to exercise in order to lose her weight.

Joo Eun asked help from Kim Young Ho (So Ji Sub), a personal trainer for Hollywood stars. She didn't know that Young Ho actually was from a wealthy family. He was pointed to be the next president of the family company but he chose to live his own life. He suffered an injury when he was a kid and got operated but the after-effect still remained. He didn't want to show his weakness to anyone. 

Young Ho trained Joo Eun to lose her weight so she could be Venus of Daegu again. During the training, love blossomed between both of them.

Another drama about being pretty outside is more important. Good looking can attract the opposite sex but it's not the only way to get love. One thing that I love from this drama is Young Ho loves Joo Eun even when she's a fatty. Though he helps her to lose her weight, he still accepts her when she gains weight again.

[SERIES] BIRTH OF BEAUTY; A Beauty Transformation

Sara (Han Ye Seul) was a definition of beauty. She had a small face and slim body. Every man who looked at her would fall for her. She watched a reality show on TV about a fat woman willing to be slimmer. She was touched that the story of that woman. She didn't realize that the woman was actually her story. She used to be known as Sa Geum Ran, a housewife. She loved her husband but didn't know that her husband married her just because of her land. He had an affair with his co-worker in TV station. When she knew the truth, she had a car accident and reported died. In order to avenge her husband and his mistress, she asked Han Tae Hee (Joo Sang Wook) to do plastic surgery, a total transformation.

[SERIES] DR. FROST; As Cold As Ice

Dr. Frost's hair was all white. No one knew his real name. He was also a cold person. People said he was feelingless. Despite of that, he was a genius. He was an expert in psychology. He worked as a counselor in the university he had attended. There he had an assistant, Yoon Sung Ah. But, since he had no sympathy to anyone, he rejected Yoon Sung Ah as his assitant. Yoon Sung Ah was a bright and strong girl. She kept doing her job for her scholarship. They did counseling and sometimes helped Detective Nam to solve cases based on someone's psychology.
