Nightmare Teacher tells about a substitute teacher of Yosan
High School. The homeroom teacher of class 2-3 got accident and there was a
substitute teacher named Han Bong Gu. Since he appeared, one by one strange
incidents happened. Students who entered the counseling room had a contract
with Bong Gu to fulfill their wishes and sealed by their blood. The result of
their wishes was out of their expectation.
Kim Seul Gi, an invisible student in the class, would like
to be accepted by her friends. She was
given a friendship chart to start her friendship. She must draw the line
between her friends whom she would like to be friends with. She also could draw
cross in the line in order to cut the relationship. Once the line was gone, the
relationship couldn’t be back or repaired. Being bullied student, it made her
accept the contract. At first, she was glad that her friends started to talk
with her, based on the line she drew. But, her friends started to fight over
her and it made her frustrated.
Oh Ki Chul was the second boss in the school. He would like
to be the boss but he always lost to the current boss, Kang Sang Tae. So, he
signed the contract in order to win over Sang Tae. He must win so he could be
the boss. If he lost the challenge, he would be back to the time before he
challenged Sang Tae and he mustn’t have given up the challenge. After he won
over Sang Tae, there was another challenge from other students. When he lost,
he must have been back to fight against Sang Tae again. This was sickening and
he couldn’t bear anymore. But, the contract had been signed and he couldn’t
give up no matter what.
Ahn Si Yeon loved writing stories. Unfortunately, she didn’t
write fiction only but lied in reality. Her friends didn’t believe her. When
she was in the counseling room, she was given a diary to write what she wanted
to be real. Whatever she wrote would come true. She got boyfriend exactly like
what she always talked about. But, she made a mistake. The story that she
wrote, must have been written carefully. She wrote about being stalked and the
stalker really appeared.
Cheon Jae Soo was a second rank in the class. He always
studied to get good marks and hoped that he could be the first rank. When he
was cheating, Bong Gu knew it and called him to the counseling room. He gave a
can drink to Jae Soo. The drink helped Jae Soo to memorize the lessons better
but in return, he would lose his unimportant memories. He was allowed to drink
only one can everyday but slowly he started to forget how many cans he had
drunk and also he forgot about his identity.
Do Do Hee was the goddess in the class. She was a model for
the school poster. But on the second year, the model was changed into the first
year student. She thought that she was prettier but she lost to that student,
even her boyfriend left her for the student. She suddenly got a beauty
application which could change her face more beautiful. Her phone shouldn’t be
broken nor had low battery. Otherwise, every changes made would be back into
normal.
Kang Ye Rim was the class’ president. She had a boyfriend
named Seo Sang Woo. She found it was strange that the class had so many empty
seats. She felt like the seats were actually occupied but she couldn’t remember
who they were. Slowly, she regained her memories. She started to remember that
one by one of her classmates disappeared and their reasons. She went to met Han
Bong Gu to ask who actually he was but he asked back who she truly was. Ye Rim
didn’t understand what he was talking about. Bong Gu told that she was a good
student but actually it was an act. He asked what her intention to know about
her friends’ disappearance; if she really cared or just the responsibility of a
class president. Then, she went into a mirror to look for the answer while
another Ye Rim appeared outside the mirror.
Han Bong Gu is a symbol of devil. He knows our desire,
greed, jealousy, anger, and loneliness and sees them as our weaknesses. He
offers a way out to express or fulfill the feelings. But, we always forget that
sometimes our desire leads to a dead end and we have no way back. From this
drama, we can learn that we have to be careful for what we wish for. We also
learn to accept who really we are so we won’t be jealous to anyone and push
ourselves to better or even the best. Being happy starts from accepting
ourselves and doing what we love.
